Katie's life as of now:
OH EM GEE. I have been SO freaking busy as of late... I feel like I have very little time for me. First of all, school. I believe I just got my first C in Algebra. OH, HAPPY, FUCKING DAY. Call me an over-achiever, but I took pride in my 4.0 GPA. Not only that, but I made my first B (in high school) as well. Stupid AP English with your super hard course-ness. Anyway. I may be complaining a lot, but mid-semester report cards actually haven't come out, yet... I'm just not getting my hopes up, if you know what I mean. Because disappointment would most certainly follow. Thank GOD midterm exams are done. Now I've got a big-ass research paper for English to do, though. More joy.
On a happier note, Homecoming was this week. During homecoming week, we are allowed to wear themed out-of-uniform shirts. Monday was Superhero Day (YEAH. THE DAY AFTER CHRISTOPHER REEVES DIED. ;_; ), so I wore my Superman badge from mine and Tabitha's previously-established superhero week. Tuesday was Sports day, so I wore an old volleyball jersey. (I was gonna wear my straight-out tutu with my pants over it, but since the skirt is really low, the pants wouldn't stay up on mah hips. DARNIT!) Wednesday was Beach Day, so we wore Hawaiian/Beach-y shirts and flip-flops. Thursday was Western Day... I wore a bandana and button-up shirt... one of the seniors actually wore leather chaps. LMAO. And finally, Friday, the day of the Homecoming Parade (due to bad weather on Thurs) and the end of mid-term exams, we got to wear JEANS. FINALLY. :3 Our homecoming theme was "Roll out the red carpet! The Pirates are taking over Hollywood!" or something ghey like that. The junior float kicked so much ass. Graham needs to be a professional float designer when he grows up. That buy has got SKILLS. All the juniors on the float (about 20, I think) dressed up as celebrities. To name a few, Nathan was Jack Sparrows/Johnny Deep, Bragg was Harry Potter, Catherine was Anna Nicole Smith, Katie K. was Courtney Love, Lauralee was Kelly Osbourne, and I was Paris Hilton. I'm too tired to list anymore... *yawns* Anyway, I got a bunch of random and some candid pictures... but I don't think I got any good shots of the float (HOW STUPID, KATIE!) I had a really good time. It was a great end for those horrid, horrid midterms and a terrible academic week. And Fairhope won the football game. Yaaay! WABB gave us some Team of the Week award they give us every year... lol But we still cheered like we'd never received an honor so glorious before. Tomorrow is the Homecoming dance (or HC "gyration", as Elizabeth R. likes to call it. XD). I'm going with Danielle, Lauralee, KK, and KK's date. Why? Because guys SUCK! HAHAHAHA. We're going out for sushi. Yaaay! I have dance rehearsal tomorrow. Boooo. I'm drivng over to Danielle's after rehearsal to get ready with her. Yaaay! We're taking her new, red Jetta instead of my ghetto '97 Explorer. Yaaay! And then on Sunday, I have to go to a meeting for Dogwood Trail Pageant try-outs. Oh, Lord. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need all the help I can get. I'm so uncouth. XD

Don't you hate it when you write out a REALLY long journal entry, then lose it? Due to that fact, this entry will not be quite as cheerful as my last, but I'll try not to let it get to me. HERE GOES.
Sooo... did anyone here attend AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta)? Probably not... But I did! :3 It was my first anime convention, and it was also the 2004 Meet-Up for members of the VAA (Voice Acting Alliance -
[link] ). I had a GREAT time! I stayed from Friday night - early Sunday afternoon. It was also my first time meeting online friends. Saturday night, I cosplayed Haruko from FLCL.
(who cosplayed Garnet/Dagger from FF9) and I walked around together the whole weekend and had an awesome time. I entered my first cosplay contest as well! Even got an award, which was a miracle in itself. XD Didn't get a prize, because it was one of the lesser awards, but I am still ecstatic. After receiving the award, the adorable MC, Lauren Goodnight, asked each contestant a question. Mine was something like "How did you get your wig like that?" (But it looks like she is caressing my cheek. XD) If only she had fixed my brown hair sticking out on the bottom... lol

My answer to Lauren's question was something like "Well, the wig basically came styled, so all I did was unwrap it and fluff it with my hands." (I totally forgot to mention that I had spent 2 hours filling in the bare spots with Barbie hair, some thread, pink spray hair color, and carpenter's glue. o_0) and she responded "Well, you must be quite good with your hands!" and of course, the audience's response to this was amusing, indeed.
